The Biological Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory experiments and maintaining biological processes to support projects within Arnasi’s biomedical department. The role will require a conscientious and thorough individual with a passion for hands-on work and the desire to contribute to novel projects that will improve patient experiences. The role is a full-time, onsite role based at Arnasi’s office in Woburn, MA. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Maintain mammalian cell cultures. Prepare samples for cytotoxicity, biocompatibility, and other experiments. 
  • Prepare and manage bacteria cultures for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepare coated device samples for internal testing and external clients.
  • Conduct biological tests and experiments, including cell, blood-based, and microbial assays.
  • Conduct other experiments as needed including aging studies, coating characterization and performance testing, and more.
  • Record procedures, observations, and data clearly and accurately.
  • Analyze experimental data and interpret results. Communicate results to the broader team.
  • Ensure and maintain a clean, organized working environment within all laboratory, manufacturing and office spaces that fosters collaboration and creativity.
  • Assist in manufacturing and other production activities.
  • Assist in managing common lab inventory and supplies.
  • Assist in hazardous waste management.

Skills & Experience 

  • A.S., B.S., or equivalent experience in biology, biological sciences, biomedical engineering or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in mammalian cell culture.
  • Experience in microbiology techniques and bacterial culture.
  • Data analysis and good recordkeeping abilities.
  • Ability to switch between projects as needed.
  • Team player who works well with diverse teams. Self-starter with proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
